Women’s soccer hosted a game Oct. 15 against Virginia State University, taking the victory 4-2.

The first goal for Ferrum was scored by first-year Macy Taylor with an assist from senior Anna Milliron during the 26th minute.

The second goal found the net in the 30th minute by first-year Jaden Heirs with the help of first-year Peyton Fularon, setting the tone of the game before half time.

The Panthers took the 2-0 lead into the break.

Early in the second half sophomore Amber Nichole Gillen scored a goal for Ferrum off a cross from first-year Carissa Iriarte, making the score 3-0. During the 70th minute, first-year Summer Stevens scored the final goal for Ferrum.

During the 79th and 83rd minute VSU scored twice making the final score 4-2.

The win for Ferrum came after a 7-game losing streak.

The next game will be Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. on the home grounds of Francis Marion.
