Ferrum Men’s Soccer won 6-2 in their home opener against Warren Wilson last Friday.
Jonathan Nicacio, junior, scored the first goal four minutes into the game assisted by Erick Nolasco, senior, then scored his second goal at the 17 minute mark. Calvin Sanders, freshman, ended the half with a goal from just beyond the half-field line, making the score 3-1 at halftime.
“Day by day, game by game, and action by action. Focusing on the small details and tasks at hand are essential for our team’s success,” said Head Coach Matt Cureton.
Nicacio got his hat-trick less than two minutes into the second half, scoring his third goal. He assisted on the next goal from Petur Larusson, freshman.
Larusson scored another goal just two minutes after his previous one, bringing the score to 6-1. The Panthers closed out the game 6-2, taking their record to 1-0.
Men’s Soccer’s next game is Sept. 1 versus Bridgewater College at home at 5 p.m.
