Volleyball is riding high with a 4-1 record over their last five games, including a three-game winning streak on the road.
Their journey included wins against Toccoa Falls (3-0), Agnes Scott (3-0), Hollins (3-0), and Johnson & Wales (3-0) followed by a loss at Bluefield (0-3).
Senior Sami Kircher reflected on the team’s recent success.
“I think just knowing we had it in us to perform to our best abilities, even though we were on the road, also just having confidence in ourselves and the whole team,” she said.
She emphasized the mental shift that has pushed the team to new heights
“We also have been really good with having the mindset that we have to make noise this year in the ODAC, which has led to us getting the wins we need,” Kircher said.
Head Coach Shelbylynn Adair expressed her satisfaction with how the season was going.
“I am pleased with our progress this season. We have a very young team that was put to the test early in the season. We have trusted the process, and it’s paying off,” Adair stated.
She also added that the upcoming weeks will be critical as the team strives to secure a spot in the post season.
“We have an exciting few weeks of volleyball as we work to earn a spot in our conference tournament,” she said.
As they prepare for their next game at home against Shenandoah, the team will look to build on the momentum they’ve created. The match is on Oct. 19, at 11 a.m.
With the momentum and confidence, the team is eager to continue their strong play for the rest of the season.
