The Leap studio hosted a Tabletop gaming night in September for anyone to attend.

All games from Xbox consoles to Candyland board games were there.

The main attractions were the gaming consoles such as the PlayStation and Xbox’s.

“Even though I grew up all around gaming consoles, it was refreshing to play games that I never played before,” freshman Joseph Flores stated.

However, many paid their attention to the good old-fashioned board games such as Monopoly, Connect Four, Jenga, and many more.

“I remember playing board games with my grandma when she was still around,” sophomore George Toliver stated.

Bringing back the old is becoming the new.

Many retro classics are being brought back to the newer generations, which includes older style board games.

Before video games or the consoles, face-to-face interactions were the norm. Playing against someone in real time without a screen can still be competitive.

“Video games have become so much more competitive, that’s why I like them more than board games,” senior Isaac Surber stated.

Board games and console games weren’t the only things being played; other computer games were also a main attraction like Minecraft.

“Me and my brother grew up on Minecraft, so to come back to play it brings back nostalgic memories,” said Flores.

Connections to good times were evident throughout the evening, along with shouts and hollers of winners and losers.

The night sought to bring people together like the old days.
