On Friday night, the student engagement team (SET) hosted karaoke night for the third time this semester.
There were fewer students to attend this time around, but that didn’t seem to stop the students from enjoying themselves with friends and classmates.
Although the attendance wasn’t as expected, the evening was filled with many performances.
Nicholas Simpkins, junior, took the stage multiple times, singing popular hit songs such as, “Human Nature” by Michael Jackson. The audience joined in, filling the room with collective voices and applause.
Myles Chambers, sophomore, who has attended every karaoke night this semester was thrilled with the experience.
“Karaoke last night was absolutely amazing,” he said, emphasizing that the night’s quality wasn’t impacted by low attendance.
Chambers wasn’t the only one who felt this way.
Dominique Sandidge also appreciated the atmosphere.
“There were way less people than the previous karaoke night this time, but the energy was still there,” she said.
Jasmyn Layton, sophomore, spoke on how she appreciated everybody that was there and that everybody supported the performers that were on the stage.
“The quantity of people here didn’t stop nobody from having fun and cheering each other on, and I love that,” she said.
Despite a smaller crowd, karaoke night was still enjoyable to multiple people. While the turnout may vary, bonds were created by music and supporting each one of the performers. To most, karaoke night was a success as students unwound and enjoyed themselves.
