Senior night for men’s soccer took place on Oct. 30, on Penn Roediger field as they took on the Royals of Eastern Mennonite University.

Payton Rausch, junior, put the first point onto the scoreboard, sinking the ball into the net with Jadon Brooks, sophomore, giving an assist on the play to give Ferrum the lead 1-0 at the 22 minute mark.

The Panthers took the 1-0 score into the break.

In the second period, Rausch launched a second ball into the net on a free kick he took from 40 yards out to extend the Panthers lead to 2-0 at the 60 minute mark.

Eastern Mennonite proceeded to fling two goals into the Panthers’ net, tying the score as the clock ran down at the 70 and 80 minute marks.

M.J. Upchurch, senior, saved 12 goals from going in while protecting the net during the match as the Royals bombarded him with 18 total shots on goal. The Panther sent 11 shots towards the EMU goal.

The team also honored all of their seniors before the start of the game including Upchurch, Jaedyn McKinney, Erick Nolasco, and Callum Harrison.
