Ferrum Track and Field had two Top 10 finishes at the VMI Winter Classic Feb. 8.

First-year Max Madsen placed 5th in the long jump with a jump of 6.78m and junior Deontae Lawson took 9th with a 1.89m jump.

Many other Panthers also competed this weekend:

•  Madsen also placed 23rd in the 60m prelims and 5th in the high jump.
• First-year Jahmal Jones finished the meet in 14th for the 60m prelims.
• Senior Na’Shawn Greene took 32nd in 60m prelims and 23rd in the 200m.
• Senior Damauri McPherson competed for 38th in the 60m prelims.
• Senior Ariana Beverley placed 30th in the 60m prelims, 19th in the long jump, and 33rd in the 200m.
• Sophomore Zoie Wagner finished in 30th in the 60m prelims.
• Junior Logan McClung finished in 13th for the 60m hurdles.
• First year Joseph Terry took 39th in the 60m prelims and 41st in the 200m.
• Senior Cameron Easley competed for 54th in the 200m.
• Senior Jordan Booker placed 34th in the 200m and 31st in the 400m.
• Sophomore Emma Kelley finished 41st in the 200m and 33rd in the 400m.
• First years Jordan Smith and Jaylen Lampkin took 17th and 35th in the 400m.
• Junior Kayden Ryder competed for 25th in the 400m and 21st in the 800m.
• Junior Josh Mills placed 17th in the 800m, and senior Greyson Crouch 24th.
• First Year Jaiden Childress took 17th in the long jump.
• Sophomores Kyle Holcomb and Elijiah Joyner placed 27th and 33rd in the men’s shot put, and junior Jaylon Hillman 40th.
• Sophomore Sara Rah and first Year Lily Bigger took 20th and 24th in the women’s shot put.

The Panther’s will prowl next at the Joe Flacco Invitational on Feb. 15 in Salem, VA.
