Once a month, the Student Engagement Team (SET) hosts a Treat Tuesday as students get a free snack while going about their day.
On Feb. 26, students were treated to a selection of donuts and fruit, giving them a choice between a sweet treat or a healthier option.
Jamel Alexander, sophomore, enjoyed the fruit option as the pineapples stood out.
“I picked the fruit, and it was good, especially the pineapples. I love them,” he said.
While he appreciated the variety, he had an idea for the next treat for the next Treat Tuesday.
“They should make their own Rice Krispie treats and let us customize them in the next one,” he said.
Sophomore Dominique Sandidge went with the donut option, even though it wasn’t entirely by choice.
“I picked the donut because it was the only thing left, but I liked it,” she shared.
Reflecting on previous Treat Tuesday events, she mentioned a past favorite.
“I like the make-your-own trail mix like they had last month,” she said.
The student engagement team has rotated different snack options each month.
Last month’s trail mix bar allowed students to mix their combinations, a feature that Sandidge and others would like to see return.
With positive feedback and suggestions like Alexander’s Rice Krispie treat idea, Treat Tuesday could see even more creative snack options in the future. Whether students choose fruit for a refreshing boost or a donut for a sweet treat, the event brings some students together.
