
Seniors Zach Beckner and Rayshawn Dixon ended their careers with 4 top four finishes at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, which was held in March 14-15 at Amica Mutual Pavillion in Providence, RI.
Beckner placed fourth at 125 lbs, and Dixon, heavyweight, secured a fourth-place finish also.
Both wrestlers earned All-America honors.
The Panthers finished 15th out of 74 teams with 27.5 team points, making this the highest finish at the NCAA Division III Championships in the school history.
As the #3 seed, Beckner started with a 8-1 decision over Brett Birchmsn in the round of 16, followed by a 9-0 major decision over Jake Craig in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Beckner fell to the #2 seed Christian Guzman by a 13-4 major decision. He bounced back with an 8-5 victory over Brayden Parke in the consolation semifinals.
Becknerās third-place match ended in a 2-2 tie, but Mason Barrett won in overtime, leaving Beckner with a fourth-place finish.
Dixon, as the #2 seed, opened with a 5-0 decision over Adolfo Betancur in the round of 16. He then had an 19-3 tech fall over #7 Reid Garrison to reach the semifinals. Dixon lost a 2-1 decision to Mitch Williamson in the semifinals but responded with a 4-1 decision over Betancur in the consolation semis.
In the third-place match, Dixon fell 4-2 to #3 Josh Harkless.
Beckner and Dixon both concluded their collegiate careers as three-time NCAA qualifiers and two time All-Americans.
Beckner first qualified in 2017, finishing as a national runner up, and returned to the NCAA Championships in 2024 and 2025.
Dixon first qualified in 2023, finished 5th in 2024, and finished 4th place this season.
