Norton Outdoor Adventures launched the school year off with an immersive rowing experience held on Adam’s Pond last Thursday.

During the community hour on campus, head faculty member of Norton Outdoors, Aaron Conover brought the students out of the classroom and onto the water.

“We are doing some of the paddling and fishing along with other activities, specifically during the community hours,” Conover explained. “This is a good time to step out and take a break from everything.”

Returning alongside Norton Outdoor Adventures this semester is the restocking of the pond for the first time since Apr. 4. Information regarding the date of restocking will be sent out by email when a date is finalized.

“We will be doing a good bit of fun activities both on and off campus, including rock climbing and cave exploration,” Conover stated. “They will be posted on Panther Experience and sent out via email.”

For senior Hannah Wray, an hour out on the pond was exactly what her Thursday was missing.

“Its a good chance to be outside after being in a classroom all morning,” Wray said. “Grab a couple of friends and try it, even if you end up not liking it, definitely just give it the opportunity.”

Norton Outdoor Adventures will be holding events throughout the year that allow students to become further in tune with nature.
