Men’s Track Competes at JDL Flat is Fast Invitational

Men’s track team competed in the JDL Flat is Fast Invitational this past Sunday, Michael Hamm (Sophomore) highlighted the day with a second-place finish in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.57 for the Panthers.

The Panthers had 11 men compete in six events. Hamm, Isaiah Clark, sophomore, DaMauri McPherson, junior, Alberto Pinerio, junior, and Marquis Adams, freshman, all ran the 60 meters. Jaden Huffman, freshman, set a new personal record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.39. Hamm, Clark, McPherson, Kwajay Witcher, senior, and Elijah Simmons, sophomore, ran the 200 meters, Logan McClung, freshman, was the lone runner in the 400-meter race.

Kaden Ryder finished 10th in the 600-meter race, Huffman set a new personal record, Seth Shaffer(Junior), and Josh Mills(Freshman) ran the 800 meters, and Tysen Gotshci, junior, and Clayton Stanford, junior, ran the 1 mile.

“We had a good week of practice, a tough week and we made some strides in the right direction,” Head Coach Mark White said.

Coach White’s squad will be back in action on Jan. 27-28 in Lexington, VA, at the VMI Winter Classic.
