Swimmers compete against Greensboro and Randolph

Liza Montgomery flutters through the competition for the win.

Ferrum College’s women’s swimming team competed against Greensboro College and Randolph College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference tri-meet Sat., Jan. 21, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Randolph 116, Ferrum 30, Greensboro 28

Randolph won the first two men and women relay events and the next seven to open a commanding lead. Liza Montgomery won the 200 butterfly for the Panthers, with a time of 2:52:58, and also finished third in the 1000 freestyle.

Emilie Fairman and Lauren Hackett each competed in the 100 freestyle, finishing second and fifth, respectively. Fairman also grabbed a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle.

Coach Margaret Bisnett’s team will be back in action Wednesday through Sunday, Feb. 8-11, at the 2023 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Swimming Championships. The four-day event will once again be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in downtown Greensboro.
