Wilson Goes 2-2 at Limestone Open

Women’s wrestler Jordan Wilson competed Feb. 5 in the Limestone Open, held at Limestone University’s Timkin Center. A total of 89 wrestlers spread over 10 weight classes competed in the Limestone Open, with 13 teams represented.

Wrestling in the 155-pound weight class, Wilson opened with an 8-0 loss to #2 seed Amalani Latu of host Limestone. She rebounded with back-to-back wins by technical fall in the consolation side of her bracket.

Wilson beat Mackenzie Yates of Liberty University with a 10-0 tech fall, then repeated with an 11-0 tech fall over unattached wrestler Taniyah Ford. She then dropped an 11-0 tech fall to Isabella Badon of Presbyterian University and was eliminated from competition. Wilson’s two losses were to the third-place Latu and fourth-place Badon.

The top four wrestlers in each weight class earn automatic qualification into the 2023 NCWWC National Championship, held March 3-4 in Cedar Rapids, IA.
