The Panther’s Women’s Swim Team finished another season last Sat., Feb. 11, in Greensboro, NC. The 2023 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Swimming Championships were a four-day event, from Feb. 8-Feb. 11.

The first day of events began for the Panthers when Liza Montgomery swam the 1650 freestyle prelims. Next up was a trio competing for the 100 freestyle prelims among 45 other out-of-school swimmers. Lauren Hackett, senior, finished with a time of  1:07.83, 29th, Jordan Prezio ended at 1:16.10, 35th, and Carley Dye clocked 1:22.62, 39th. Following this, Emilie Fairman,  junior, swam in the 200 breaststroke prelims.

Dye, Fairman, Prezio, and Hackett later competed in the 400 freestyle relay prelims and placed for Saturday night’s finals. In the final, Fairman, Montgomery, Prezio, and Hackett cut 23.5 seconds off their time from earlier in the day, ending 10th at 4:26.03.

“We ended the last day of the ODAC Championship meet with fast racing and four personal best times. The most exciting race of the meet was the 400 freestyle finals relay. Our relay team, who are all seniors, dropped a ton of time to beat Hollins and Guilford. It was a great way to end our seasons,” stated Margaret Bisnett, Head Coach.
