Panther wrestling finished seventh at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship, with junior Joseph Olalde (157 lbs) earning All-ODAC third-team honors.
Olalde went 3-1, starting with a 17-4 major decision over Cannon Long in the quarterfinals. He fell to Anthony Taylor by a 15-5 major decision in the semifinals but bounced back with an 8-1 win over Jordan Nutter in the consolation semis.
In the third place match, Olalde beat Long again in a 4-3 decision.
First-years Cameron Curva (149 lbs) and Josiah Canales (141 lbs) both placed fourth.
Curva secured a 2-2 record with a pin and a tech fall. He started with a pin over Noah Diamond before dropping a 7-6 decision in the semifinals. He bounced back with a 17-2 tech fall in the consolation semis but fell 7-6 in the third place match.
Canales also finished 2-2, winning two decisions before falling in the third-place match. He defeated Adon Overstreet and Mauricio Reyes but lost to Skyler Hickman by tech fall in the quarterfinals and third-place match.
First-year Avery Hall (165 lbs) and sophomore Joseph Toner (184 lbs) placed sixth.
Hall had one win, which was a tech fall over Nicholas Menjivar but lost in the fifth-place match to Noah James 18-14.
Toner started off with a 4-1 decision over Ikia Garcia but lost three straight matches.
Coach Logan Meister and the Panthers will now prepare for the Division III Southeast Regional Feb. 28-Mar. 1 at Averett.
