Women’s and men’s track and field competed at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic in Lynchburg, Va. on April 12.
For the women’s team, there were two personal bests and many notable races:
Senior Airiana Beverley jumped higher than ever before in the high jump, as well as competing in the 100m. Sophomore Emma Kelley competed in the same events.
Junior Sarah Rah scored a personal best in the shot put, and sophomore Hannah Parks ran in the 100m and 400m.
The men’s team also proved competitive at the meet.
First year Jordan Smith placed 11th in 200m, first year Max Madsen PR-ed in the 100m and competed in the men’s high jump.
Senior Na-Shawn Greene competed in two relays and the long jump, junior Deontae Lawson PR-ed in the long and ran in the 200m, and junior Logan McClung ran a seasonal best time with the 400m hurdles.
Junior Josh Mills set a personal best in the men’s 1500m, senior Greyson Crouch set a personal record in the 3000m.
For the field events, sophomore Kyle Holcomb competed in the shot put and hammer throw, and junior Jaylon Hillman threw in the discus and hammer throw.
Three relays also competed throughout the day.
The team will be back in action on April 18-19 at the Aggie Invitational.
