Ferrum Young Life held its second worship night of the semester Nov. 4 in the Virginia Room at 7 p.m.

Guest speaker, sophomore Dylan Howerton, delivered the word, and worship leader, sophomore Caleb Honaker, accompanied on guitar.

With these worship nights, it gives students a time to unwind and be able to be present in their faith. With the mix of prayer, music, and hearing the word, students are able to connect with their peers on a personal level.

“I think worship nights are going to be great for the campus community, especially when it’s student-lead because it makes it more personable in my opinion. Especially when it’s held in the Virginia Room. It’s such a prime location to catch the eye of anyone walking by,” said Honaker.

With the Virginia Room being right in the traffic of the Pizzeria and Boars Head, it can pull in a lot of curiosity and maybe have more students wanting to be involved.

“I reached out to the Young Life team about worship because they were interested in student musicians, and I was very involved at my previous school with leading worship every week,” Honaker said. “So it’s something that I wanted to contribute to try to build the worship atmosphere around campus. I love doing it, and I love praising Him.”

Worship nights will try to be held every first Tuesday of every month.

“I’ve truly enjoyed the worship nights–it gives me outreach to others that are Christians on campus, and it’s great to hear the word with others around your age,” said junior Emily Smith

There has been a good jump in 2025 of GenZ Christians.

“I think it’s a great addition to campus this year, and I hope it continues for many more.” said Smith.
