As part of its on-going, coffee-house revival, Chrysalis and  The Iron Blade will team up again this Thursday to sponsor another Open-Mic Night Coffee House.

Festivities will begin in the Panther’s Den at 8 p.m.

There is no sign-up for the event–just show up and get on a list.

The Undead Poets Society will announce its Night of Terror contest winners, and there will be a costume contest. Light refreshments will also be served.

At the first coffee house in September, the sign-up list kept growing throughout the course of the evening, and students performed everything from spoken word to poetry to short stories to original songs. At one point, sophomore Gage Shelton broke into song on the ukulele.

When the final performer left the stage, a spontaneous free-style rap battle broke out between Director of Student Activities Justin Muse and CJ Hughes, junior. Check out the video and story here.

Officials were pleased with the energy and turnout from the first coffee house and hope it will carry over to Thursday. Due to popularity and interest, organizers suggest getting to the Panther’s Den early to sign up.
