The VMI Winter Classic indoor track and field meet was held last week in Lexington, VA. The Ferrum men’s track and field competed both Saturday and Sunday against Division 1 and Division 2 schools.

The Panthers contributed 12 men in the events at the meet. Juniors DaMauri Mcpherson, Alberto Pineiro, and sophomore Isaiah Clark  competed in the 60 meters. Hurdler, Jaden Huffman ran the 60-meter hurdles. Clark also ran the 200 meters and the 400-meter race was done by Logan McClung.

In the men’s 60-meter race, Clark finished with a time of 7.15 seconds, McPherson finished at 7.36 seconds, and Pineiro ended with a personal record of 7.59 seconds.

Seth Shaffer, junior ,was the lone Panther for the Men’s 500-meter race, finishing with a time of 1:11.66.

Tysen Gotschi, senior, finished the Men’s 1-mile race in 4:43.24, which is his new personal record.

The Panthers will be back in action Feb. 4 in Lynchburg, VA at the Liberty Open.
