Men’s Lacrosse Wins Big on the Road

LAX men picked up a non-conference win Sat., March 25, on the road over Warren Wilson College, winning 21-3 at Owls Field.

Tommy Jackson, midfielder, senior, had a pair of first-quarter goals to help the Panthers take a 6-0 lead after one quarter. The Panthers then scored eight more goals in the second to break the game open. Saiquan Bell broke up the shutout with an unassisted goal for Warren Wilson with 1:30 left in the second quarter, trimming the score to 14-1 at the break.

Jackson added a goal two minutes into the third quarter to make it a 15-1 game, then Jude Searles found the back of the net for the Owls to make it 15-2. The Panthers used a 6-1 run to close out the game and earn the non-conference road win.

Stats for the Panthers include: GK Brody Johnson, junior, (W, 2-2) 60 min, 5 saves; Nathan Piggot,  junior, 5 goals; Jackson 4 goals, 2 assists; Jacob Carrol, defensive middle, senior, 3 goals, 1 assist.

For Warren Wilson GK Arlo Pogrebin got the loss (1-6), played 60 min, and had 12 saves.

Coach Zach Louie‘s team will be back in action Sat, Apr 1, at home against Virginia Wesleyan University. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference game is set for 11:00 a.m. at W.B. Adams Stadium.
