Each month the Student Engagement Team hosts Treat Tuesday, providing students with a free treat from the Student Affairs Staff. The event, which takes place in the SET office located in lower Franklin Hall, holds new treats every time it is held.

This past Tuesday,  the staff provided a sweet and savory trail mix station with items like pretzels, peanuts, chocolate chips, and gummy worms.

Luke Morgan, the Area Coordinator of  Village and Student Engagement, helps run Treat Tuesday and offered up his knowledge on the event.

“Treat Tuesday takes place on the last Tuesday of every month,” he said “We’ve had nachos, doughnuts, and Rice Krispie treats before, and it’s really just a good way to get students down here to the SET office.”

While many students grabbed their treats to go, several stuck around and enjoyed the music and

company of their fellow classmates.

Junior Elijah Joyner stuck around the office to eat.

“Treat Tuesday is a good way to unite as a school, and it’s good eats,” he said.

Since Treat Tuesday takes place during the community hour close to lunch, the event sees a high volume of students, making it first come first serve.

Junior Jasmyn Laten, also frequents the Treat Tuesday events.

“My favorite thing about Treat Tuesday is when they have the chips and salsa and chips and queso,” she said “It’s always so good.”

As Treat Tuesday grows in popularity, it remains one of the many ways the Student Engagement Team brings students together outside of the classroom and offers a small, but meaningful break in the hustle and bustle of campus life.

The next Treat Tuesday will take place in April, and with different treats being offered each month, it is unknown what the last Treat Tuesday of the semester will bring.
