Ferrum College students gathered on April 18 for the annual Spring Fling Festival, an event hosted by the Ferrum Student Government Association (SGA) and Student Engagement Team (SET). Held on campus at the Franklin Hall Quad, the festival brought students together for an afternoon of entertainment, food, and activities as the semester came to a close.
The event featured a live DJ, a mechanical bull, Kona Ice, games, and booths hosted by campus clubs and organizations. Students were able to relax, spend time with friends, and take a break from the stress of final projects and exams. Lunch was also served throughout the event, giving students another reason to stop by and join the celebration.
Spring Fling has become one of the most anticipated campus traditions each year because it gives students an opportunity to enjoy themselves before summer break. Many students said the festival was a fun way to create memories and celebrate the end of another successful academic year.
“I thought it was really fun and a good way to end the semester,” said junior Emma Kelley.
Her comment reflected the feelings of many students who appreciated having one last, large campus event before finals week and graduation activities began.
“I thought it was really fun; a lot of people came out and showed up; there were many more activities to do,” Mackenzie Ellinger, junior, said.
Her statement highlighted the strong attendance and the excitement students felt throughout the day.
The Spring Fling Festival not only provided entertainment but also strengthened the sense of community on campus. Students from different organizations, majors, and class years had the chance to connect in a casual and welcoming setting.
As the semester winds down, events like Spring Fling remind students of the importance of balance, friendship, and school spirit. With music, games, and laughter filling the quad, Ferrum College’s Spring Fling Festival once again proved to be a memorable way to celebrate the end of the semester.
