Women’s Basketball entered the 2026 Conference Carolinas Tournament seeded as #11 on March 1 and 2.

The Panthers first competed against UNC Pembroke, taking home a close 74-71 win to kick of the tournament.

First-year Breyana Kimmons led the way for the Panthers, scoring 17 points for the team. Senior Tauryn Blankenship scored 14 across the game, taking a spot as the second top scorer, while sophomore Maslyn Mosbacher dropped in 12.

The game was close from the very beginning, with the first quarter ending in a 14-13 score in favor of the Panthers. A 40.7% shooting accuracy and defensive success brought the team to 41-33 at halftime and led the the rest of the way in a first-round tournament win.

The Panthers aimed for another win as the tournament continued across the weekend. On March 2, however, against Lees-McRae College, the Panthers fell short.

Although Ferrum led the first quarter with an 18-14 lead, Lees-McRae narrowed it toward halftime, bringing the score to 26-25.

The Panthers showed out in the third quarter, scoring seven consecutive points followed by sophomore Kleiuauna Riddick‘s three pointer.

But Lees-McRae’s 89% shooting accuracy brought the game to a 60-48 victory in favor of the Bobcats.

The Panthers concluded their season with 10 victories and 7 conference wins.
