Women’s basketball team wins ODAC game

The women’s basketball team scored 70 points to lead the Panthers to 18-point victory over Eastern Mennonite University on Jan. 24

The ODAC game saw Aisha Martin, senior, toss in 20 of the Panter 70.

Kayleigh Shreffler, sophomore, and Erin Harden, freshman, scored early on, netting three-pointers and putting the team ahead during the first quarter.

EMU took control at the beginning of the second quarter, but after seven points scored by Kayla Cabiness, senior, the Panthers remained in the lead.

Martin pulled the team further ahead in the third quarter, scoring 11 points.  The Panthers kept this momentum going throughout the remainder of the game.

The Panthers followed that game with a 79-52 loss against Washington & Lee at hone on Jan. 28.

The women will be on the road this week, playing Roanoke College in Salem on Feb. 1. Game time is 5 p.m.
